HEALTHY HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Can you believe that it is already December? The year has gone by so fast. I hope you take time to reflect on the past year and find yourself in a good head space to end the year strong.

I am happy to announce that during the month of December I will be offering six free online workout sessions over the Christmas themed Healthy Happy Holiday. In case you are wondering why over Christmas, I will share a few reasons.

We typically eat more over the holidays

Over the holidays we eat more than we do during the year. The number of events and dinners that we attend also increases. There is chocolate everywhere. Although this may not be the case in terms of attending events this year, there will be family dinners at home. According to a 2016 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, the average American's weight increases by 0.4 percent over Christmas. O.K, so probably most of you reading this are not American, but you can relate.

No need to despair with this weight gain fact because this study considers the average person and you my dear reader are not average!

Staying consistent

If you have been consistently following a workout routine during the year and want to keep up your progress this is a great way to keep going. If you feel you need a little break over the holidays, then take one. In all that you do, do what makes you feel happiest.

Start moving

If you have not been keeping up with some sort of workout routine, this is a good time to start. If you can work out through the Christmas holidays, you can work out any time through the year. Think of it as a warmup for the New Year.

Sore muscles are better than a sore head

That DOMS (Delayed-onset muscle soreness) feeling when your body reminds you that you had a good workout session, priceless! Carry your muscles soreness with pride. On the other hand, a sore head from too much food and drink indulgence, is not so much fun.

The aim of these sessions is not to cancel out those extra calories. It is to connect with you all as well as stay healthy and happy over the holidays. Fun Fact exercising makes you happier! If you need another happiness hack here is one for you, exercise.

2020 has been an unprecedented year. Do not forget about you and your health. Whether it is your mental health or physical health, taking care of yourself is a must.

It is not as bad as you think

Remember what you do between New Year and Christmas matters more than what you do between Christmas and New Year. So even if you do eat or drink a little more over the holidays, what is important is that you do so consciously and guilt free.

To register for the sessions click here and chose events. NOTE! 2 of the sessions are ladies only.

I hope that you found this blog post helpful. If you did, email me and do let me know info@mmblifestyle.com. Feel free to share it.

Until next time, take care of yourselves and of each other.
